Safety & support
Is this therapy? When to reach for a professional
No. Working Inland is personal-growth work and a companion to the support already in your life — a therapist, a doctor, a faith, a circle. It isn't therapy, and it isn't a replacement for professional care.
Some things ask for a trained person, not an app, and not first: active crisis, harm you're carrying from trauma, anything where your safety or someone else's is at risk. This work is built to sit alongside that kind of support, never in place of it. If something heavy surfaces while you're working, that's not a reason to push through alone — it's a reason to bring a real person in.
If you're not sure whether what you're carrying needs more than this, it's worth asking someone qualified. And if it can't wait, see "If you need help right now."
